The USR Office of Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU) implementing the “Green Community Roots and Shoots Action Plan” worked with Tainan First Senior High School, Tainan Girls' Senior High School, and Tainan Chia-Chi Senior High School to jointly organized the 2022 Bilingual Summer Science Camp for Elementary School Students.” Participated by 50 students from Alien Elementary School, the Camp offering science, English, African culture learning, water quality monitoring, and environmental education was instructed by high school students from the said three CJCU partner high schools and seven CJCU’s Tanzanian students from the International Program for Sustainable Development (IPSD). Camp instructors cooperated to jointly design and create exciting challenging games and tools to incorporate popular science knowledge such as “neutralization reaction,” “oxidation reaction,” and “atmospheric pressure” into courses. Campers were taught to do easy science experiments on their own to get closer to science.
