Tainan, Taiwan - Dr. Do Anh Tai, Vice-Rector of Dai Nam University in Vietnam, visited Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU) in Tainan, Taiwan from June 11-13, 2024. This is the second time he visited CJCU. The trip aimed to discuss potential cooperation between the two institutions across several academic programs.
During his visit, Dr. Tai had a meeting with CJCU President Lee Yung-Lung, and met with representatives from CJCU's College of Management, School of Information and Design, and Department of Nursing. Productive discussions were held regarding opportunities for collaboration.
With the College of Management, both sides reached an agreement in principle to establish a student exchange program for undergraduates. They also discussed a 3+1+1 master's degree pathway, where students would study three years at their home university, two years at the CJCU to achieve their master degree. Potential PhD training cooperation was also explored.
Meetings with the School of Information and Design centered on partnerships related to computer science and technology programs.
Meanwhile, the Department of Nursing discussed possibilities for short-term student exchanges or training programs with their Vietnamese counterparts.
"We are delighted at the prospect of closer ties between CJCU and Dai Nam University," said Dr. Tai. "Such collaborations will create enriching study abroad opportunities for students and enable impactful research partnerships between our faculties."
CJCU representatives expressed similar enthusiasm about the fruitful negotiations. The specific details of the academic cooperative agreements will be further solidified in the months ahead.
This visit from the Dai Nam University delegation represents CJCU's continued efforts to globalize its academic offerings and provide international experiential learning for students. The university looks forward to welcoming Vietnamese students to its campus in the future.
