Nathan Thadeo Yoashi, the first Tanzanian graduate of Chang Jung Christian University’s International Bachelor’s Degree Program in Sustainability Development (IPSD), has earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from National Taiwan University (NTU) and has been selected as the international degree student representative to speak at NTU’s 2026 Commencement Ceremony.
Raised in rural Tanzania, Nathan came to Taiwan on a full scholarship from CJCU to pursue higher education. During his undergraduate studies, he actively participated in environmental education, University Social Responsibility (USR) initiatives, and sustainability projects. After graduating from CJCU, he continued his studies at NTU, where he earned his doctorate in Environmental Engineering. He also founded the African Students Association to foster cross-cultural exchange and strengthen international connections.
Beyond his academic accomplishments, Nathan remains dedicated to serving his hometown by promoting environmental education and expanding educational opportunities for children. His journey exemplifies CJCU’s commitment to cultivating global sustainability leaders and demonstrates the transformative power of education to create lasting social impact.
